Simple Woman's Daybook - April 28, 2015

Linking up with

FOR TODAY:
April 28, 2015

What is that saying; something about "a day late and a dollar short"?  That's me this week with The Simple Woman's Daybook!  I have so much that needs to be done...

But, I am stopping long enough to join in the FUN with this week's Simple Woman's Daybook.  So, here goes:

Outside My Window:  The wind is blowing in the trees; the weather is calling for rain today; not sure of the temp right now...but my day is busy inside!

I am Thinking:  The next two days will be busy getting ready for the weekend!  Will I get everything done?

I am Thankful:  For friends who "take me away" for several hours!  {Even if I have sooooo much to do to get ready for a FUN weekend...enjoyed our day!}

I am Wearing:  A flowered pajama top and a pair of jeans capris along with my crocs, that are usually off my feet.

I am Creating:  Back to my childhood!  I have discovered these adorable paper dolls - Prima dolls!  I attended a class with my friend yesterday and we made a card using one of the dolls...adorable.  I will share some others I have done, but not yesterday's because it is not complete {and I have an idea what I will do with it when complete!}.

I am Going:  No where today; but on Thursday, another day with my friend to pick up raffle items from Sweet Pete's - a "yummy" place to go!  {Check out the post I wrote for "Are We There Yet?", all about Sweet Pete's}.  And the weekend...FUN FUN FUN at a scrapbooking retreat in town; but I am staying overnight at the hotel!!  Looking forward to it!

I am Wondering:  Am I going to be ready - for the above retreat?  I am always ready; but will my "stuff" be ready?  That is the question!

I am Reading:  "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson; I did not see the movie.  But, am having a hard time getting into the book.  Perhaps it's because I have been so busy with little time to read?

I am Hoping:  The next few days are very productive!

I am Looking Forward to:  The retreat this weekend {my readers are going to get very tired hearing about this retreat!}; but I am excited to be with my friends - some from out of town - and having a great weekend - and maybe get some scrapbooking done!

I am Learning:  More about Eucharisteo and thankfulness; reading Ann Voskamp's book "One Thousand Gifts"; I did not include that in the above category because I am taking my time with it and savoring what she has to say!  The other book is just for pleasure; her book is for my spiritual journey.

In My Kitchen:  A lot of fruit and junk food and snacks and left-overs...and my cereal is beckoning me to come eat!  Seriously!  I haven't had breakfast yet!

Around the House:  Stacks and stacks of containers and bags, organizing and readiness for...yeah, I'm gonna say it again...for the retreat!

I am Pondering:  Eucharisteo...same as I am learning from Ann's book!

I am Hearing:  The quiet of an empty apartment, except for the sounds of the computer and the whirring of the ceiling fan.

A Favorite Quote for Today:

I haven't been on Facebook yet this morning; and have already given you plenty of information about my day and week...so for today I will just say:  "Have a great week and weekend!  I shall return in two weeks!  See you around the 'net!"

  7. Love the paper dolls! I remember playing with something similar. Wonder if you can still get them off of eBay or at a toy store? Have a great week!

    1. These paper dolls are actually stamps; I just stamp them onto white paper, then stamp the clothing sections on patterned paper and cut and paste them together. I love "playing" with them also. Not sure if the "older" paper dolls are available on eBay or anywhere; these paper dolls are called Prima Dolls and can be found on Amazon or in some of the craft (scrapbooking or stamping) stores.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  9. Hello Barbara!

Your weekend scrapbooking retreat sounds like LOADS of fun! I'm happy for you...and especially that you are staying at the hotel even though the retreat is held in your town! You are going to have a blast getting together with friends from out of town and just having a time away from home.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Oh yes! I had an awesome time at the retreat! It was over with all too soon...but, it is July 1st and I have another one the end of this month! This one is about an hour's drive away; so I will definitely be staying at the hotel...

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  10. I am a grandmother and the paper dolls I had as a youngster were the Lennon Sisters. Sounds like you are going on a . . . . . retreat! :-D Enjoy! Such a lovely quote.

  11. Oh I love paper dolls!! My sister and I had so much fun with those when we were growing up! my daughter enjoyed them as well, but they weren't as popular by then. It sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead, and I hope you enjoy it! It is nice to get away even in your own town! Can't wait to read all about it!

    1. Thanks for reading this Simple Woman's Daybook...it apparently shows the link for my April 28th post instead of the current one from this week! But, I am still "playing" with the paper dolls and creating cards and all sorts of other crafty things. We DID have an awesome time at that retreat in May; and I have another one (with a different group organizing it) the end of July. I always enjoy the retreats whether I stay at the hotel or not...the one in July is about an hour from home so I will be staying at the hotel!!
