In the late night darkness or the
early morn,
Silence is yet to be…
Oh, but how it would be
That silence overcome me?
Oh, how I
yearn for the silence to be –
Will I hear His voice in the still of
the night?
Can it be
heard –
Am I open to
hear that voice so sweet –
For it is that voice could make it
right!
Silence! Do you hear His voice?
I really enjoyed the imagery you created. Love that you are challenging yourself to write in a new form post 31 Days.

Thank you for reading and commenting! I hope to get more written this weekend during a women's retreat: quiet, trees, birds, other "wild" animals (someone caught on camera a young bear playing with one of the swings on the obstacle course at the back of the conference center!! and I have seen deer)...also, no phone, no TV, no outside world to speak of except some sounds of traffic in the distance. The perfect peaceful place to write!!! I may have to find other places around home when I get back...
DeleteBeautiful poetry! It's so hard to "be still and know that I am God." Yet, it is often in the silence that He speaks to us.
ReplyDeleteYes, Lynnae - it is not easy to "be still"...I am hoping to find that stillness at a women's retreat this weekend, as I shared in my reply above...hoping to "be still and hear his voice"!!!
DeleteBeautiful! I enjoyed reading your poetry. I treasure my time alone with God. Sweet and precious time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading...it is not always easy finding that time alone! But when we do...well, I don't always take advantage of the time and that's my goal@!!
DeleteGreat reminder that it is often when we are silent that we can hear Him... and how often are we truly silent? I know with me, it's easy to get distracted!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem.
Thank you! It IS so easy to get distracted...hoping for some quiet, peace, alone time with God this weekend at the retreat - and to get something written!!
