Silence

In the late night darkness or the early morn,
Silence is yet to be…
Oh, but how it would be
That silence overcome me?
Oh, how I yearn for the silence to be –

Will I hear His voice in the still of the night?
Can it be heard –
Am I open to hear that voice so sweet –
For it is that voice could make it right!
Silence!  Do you hear His voice?

  1. I really enjoyed the imagery you created. Love that you are challenging yourself to write in a new form post 31 Days.

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting! I hope to get more written this weekend during a women's retreat: quiet, trees, birds, other "wild" animals (someone caught on camera a young bear playing with one of the swings on the obstacle course at the back of the conference center!! and I have seen deer)...also, no phone, no TV, no outside world to speak of except some sounds of traffic in the distance. The perfect peaceful place to write!!! I may have to find other places around home when I get back...

  2. Beautiful poetry! It's so hard to "be still and know that I am God." Yet, it is often in the silence that He speaks to us.

    1. Thanks for reading...it is not always easy finding that time alone! But when we do...well, I don't always take advantage of the time and that's my goal@!!

  4. Great reminder that it is often when we are silent that we can hear Him... and how often are we truly silent? I know with me, it's easy to get distracted!
    Beautiful poem.
