Simple Woman's Daybook - July 13, 2015

Linking up with

Time for another link-up with The Simple Woman's Daybook!  Be sure to check out Peggy's post and all the others this week...

For Today:
July 13, 2015

Outside My Window
The temperature is 97 degrees;
it is partly cloudy,
which means it may rain...
somewhere in Jacksonville,
sometime today!

I am Hearing
"Judging Amy"
on UP Channel...
before that, I watched
two episodes of
"Touched by an Angel"...
both of which I have seen before;
and I bawled as hard this time
as I did the first time (or two)
that I watched them!

I am Thinking
About my family and friends...
and how lucky I am -
how blessed I am -
that they are in my life!

I am Thankful
For God's blessings...
for my family and friends;
for online friends,
most of whom I have never met;
for the many Gifts He has blessed me with.

I am Praying for
My friend who is beginning his
chemo-therapy "journey"
on his birthday.

I am Wearing
Gray light-weight sweat pants;
black and white stripped night shirt...
I dressed earlier to go to the doctor;
then changed into my comfy clothes
so I could rest after taking my meds!

I am Creating
Tried working on a project Friday...
it would not do what I wanted it to do!
But, then again...
I wasn't feeling well either!

I am Going
No place else today!
Scheduled to go to breakfast
with my husband, in the morning,
for his high school alumni
monthly breakfast;
hoping I feel better by morning!

I am Wondering
How long this "crud" will last?!

I am Reading
"To Kill a Mockingbird"
by Harper Lee
(I keep on reading
because it is a classic;
but am really put-off
by that "certain" word
that I hate!)

I am Hoping
To go to the breakfast in the morning!

I am Excited That
We will all be together on Wednesday
to celebrate another birthday...
my grandson will be seven years old!

I am Learning to
Rest when my body says
I need to rest!

In My Kitchen
Dirty dishes;
and a dish washer full, too...
taking care of it later!

Around the House
I actually started cleaning,
before I got sick!

I am Pondering
God's path for my life...

Birthday Fun!

  1. Loved Judging Amy!! Cute pic of the 1 yr old!! Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Jodi! Yeah, I watched that one too, years ago; now watching it again and love's episode was when she was to get married to Stu, and stopped just before the "I Do's"...totally wrong "hook up"!!!

      Appreciate your reading and commenting...we had a blast at the party for our 1 year old. Tomorrow is her REAL b'day and I think they are going to join us for our monthly breakfast with my husband's high school alumni!

  2. Hi Barbara! You accidentally left,last week's Daybook link for this week, but I found you anyway. Look at that cute little finger up in the airmon that little sweet one-year-old! Imlove Touched by an Angel! Oh gosh, the Christmas ones are my favs! I like tour quote. something to look for in every day. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks for letting me know!! I keep forgetting to change the link!! Glad you found me and were able to read. Appreciate your comments!

  3. I know I was sorry when Judging Amy went off the air. The little one is so cute. Interesting idea, the Daybook.

    1. Glad that Judging Amy is on as re-runs. Once in a while I watch some I've already seen; or at least I remember that I've seen it!

      Yeah, Tessa! You should join us at the Simple Woman's Daybook; the prompts are there; you just basically "answer" the doing it! Thanks for reading and commenting!

  4. Sounds like good times, there in JAX.

    1. Oh yes, Andrew...good times in Jax!! (And how would you know Jacksonville is called JAX!!!???)...

      Thanks for reading and commenting - hope today is a better one for you!

  5. I loved that last precious picture. I do hope you get feeling better. It is not fun to be ill in the summer. I do hope you feel well enough to go to the breakfast with your husband.
    I haven't watched Touch By An Angel for a very long time. I always cry in those too. I will have to watch some of them again.
    I loved your quote. Have fun celebrating your grandson's birthday. We have a great granddaughter turning 1 this week so I am looking forward to that celebration.
    Blessings and hugs for you!

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, LeAnn! Yeah, that last youngest grandchild - one already! She is actually "pointing" which is her new thing; it just ended up raised like that and looks like she is saying that she is ONE! Priceless!

      I am hoping to feel better soon...Dr. has me starting with Allegra now and a nasal spray; thing is, the Allegra is a 24-hour NON-drowsy; I took it last night and did not sleep well AT ALL! So, I really need to wait until Wed. morning to get on a mornng dose schedule!! Oh, well!! I guess it will be OK...and I did go to breakfast; then home to rest a bit; and back out for our "day 1" grocery shopping trip (the short easy one!).

      Birthday "party" tomorrow evening...and happy celebrating your great granddaughter!!

  6. Sorry to hear that you are not feeling up to much and hoping that the rest has helped ... Glad to read that you did get to the breakfast :).

    1. Thanks, Alexa! I think I may be on the mend now?! Hope so anyway!
