LOVE HAS NO COLOR

Deep in my soul,
I feel it swell
and burst forth.
Just one look,
one smile
and the love I feel
overflows.

Your eyes,
so deep and dark;
your smile,
so perfect
and full of
the same sweet love
I feel for you.

Unconditional love -
Love not searched for,
but freely given.
An innocent love;
an expectant love.

And your face glows
with the certainty that...
even though our skin is
a different color -
Our love is true
and sure.

A childlike acceptance of
love freely given -
even by a stranger
sent to help
the innocent child
that you are.

    1. Thanks, Dawn! One of my "more recent poems" even though it was written almost 5 years ago! I keep trying to trigger my brain to create more - but still working with the prompted posts!

      Also trying to get a head start on upcoming posts I need/want to do!!

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Alexa! These words were on my heart - but I just don't remember what was going on back then...hoping for those "pockets of time" in addition to the prompted blogs I follow!! These are helpful; perhaps my brain will trigger the thoughts to put to paper (or computer keys!).

  4. So true. We are all beautiful no matter what we look like. And when we see through the eyes of a child there are no prejudices only love and compassion.

    1. Yes! This is so true Amanda! It isn't until we grow older that the prejudices and all that ugly stuff make a way to the surface. They may show up in our younger lives, but it is from seeing it in front of us being practiced. I live with a prejudiced husband; not something I am proud of to say...I state my views; he KNOWS my views and I usually just ignore his put-downs and go on with how I feel. There ARE times I have to state my feelings strongly to him...

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
