Fab-ruary 23rd

Another day to link up with Helen at:

And to be challenged to "find the fab" in my life!

Today, the challenge is to share -

SOUL FOOD...

When I think about "soul food", I mostly think about "comfort food";

The food I want to eat when I am not feeling well...

Like a big bowl of Macaroni and Cheese; I don't even care if it's home made or the Kraft boxed kind...

I just want Mac 'n Cheese!

But, let's look at Soul Food in an entirely different way;

What if it was Food for the Soul instead of Soul Food?

What would that look like?

Perhaps...

OR...

These are both great ways to feed the soul:

Cooking with Love and Kind Words!

But, to find the food that will truly feed your soul, we must look someplace else entirely...

Not for real food!

But...soul "food"!  The kind that feeds your soul -

The kind that is found at the source of all "food".

IN HIS WORD!

And once we have searched His Word for the "food" that will feed our soul, we will begin to understand what it is that we truly need for our soul to survive!

His Word...

Our source for "food for the soul"...

SOUL FOOD!

Fab-ruary 22nd

Another day to link up with Helen at:

And to be challenged to "find the fab" in my life!

Today, the challenge is to share what -

BEAUTY IS...

Beauty (noun):  "state of being beautiful"
Beautiful (adj.):  "very pleasing to look at"

But let me propose these definitions of BEAUTY:

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.  The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart."   - Audrey Hepburn

 "Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their FACES into their HEARTS."      - Martin Buxbaum

I could keep going; finding more and more quotes about BEAUTY that define it much better than I could...

and much better than the simple definition I quoted above from the Webster's Student Dictionary.

BEAUTY IS...

What is found in the inside; not what is seen on the outside!

Today, the challenge is to share -

MY BEST DAY EVER WOULD...

It isn't about where I go;

or when I go;

but who I go there with!

My Best Day Ever would include:

ALL of my Family;

ALL of my Friends...

And we could go -

Wherever!

And do -

Whatever!

As long as we were all together,

That's all that matters.

My post for Fab-ruary 21st, My Best Day Ever is yet to be...

and most likely will not be;

getting all the people in my life together for one day is next to impossible!

Although I have had many good days; in fact, many great days -

each great day is always the best day ever...

until the next best day ever comes!!

Guaranteed Ways
to Win My Heart!

A card or letter in the mail

A peck on the forehead

Laughter

An unexpected lunch date

A smile

Corny jokes from the grandkids

Sharing a new toy

A phone call from a loved-one

Cuddles from the grandkids

Reading the Word
(and knowing it was just the right one!)

A bright, sunny day

Hallmark or Lifetime
"cheesy" movies

These are a few of the ways to "win my heart"!

And I could conclude with this:

anytime I am with my family, the kids and grandkids,

will always "win my heart"!

Five Minute Friday: OPEN

Well, I completely let FRIDAY get away from me; and didn't check last night for the word prompt!

But, I'm not letting the weekend get away from me!

So, I am late but still linking up with Kate for Five Minute Friday to write for five minutes on the prompted word.  Find all the info about FMF at http://katemotaung.com/.

Tonight's word is:  OPEN

My first thought on the word "open" was this song:

"Open the eyes of my heart, Lord!
Open the eyes of my heart,
I (we) want to see Jesus..."

Yes!  To open our eyes, our hearts and be able to see Jesus!

Oh, to have a heart that is open to receiving Jesus, and all that He has to give...

all that He has to show me...

and all the places He wants to lead me...

Yes, to be open to His word and his guidance!

Lord, may I...

"Open my eyes that I may see,
Glimpses of  truth thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.

Silently now I wait for thee
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit Divine."

(words by Chas. H. Scott)

Another day to link up with Helen at:

And to be challenged to "find the fab" in my life!

Today, the challenge is to share what ...

I am Excellent at...

Ask me what I am GOOD at,

and I may be able to answer that question;

but...

What am I EXCELLENT at?

Perhaps I am not looking at this word correctly...

Excel "to be very good";

Excellence "very good quality";

Excellent "very good."

In order to determine what I am excellent at, I guess need to figure out the things I may be good at...

and do that better;

therefore, achieving excellence, or very good quality!

Hmmm!  I am totally confusing myself - and probably anybody who may be reading this!

Perhaps I need to pin this quote to my mirror to read everyday!  No matter what I may be good at -

or excellent at -

as long as I do my best, I will have achieved excellence!

So, I am off to "discover a pursuit that aborbs, frees, challenges, or gives" a "sense of meaning, joy, or passion"...

And once found, I'll write a P.S. to this post!!

GOOD NEWS HEADLINES

Thinking about "good news" reminded me of this song, "A Little Good News" sung by Anne Murray, one of my all-time favorite singers:

One of the things I really do not like:

the news on television!

I know...

that's how we keep up with what's going on in the world; in our city;

but, enough is enough!

The same news every time you turn on the TV??  And every station has the very same news stories...

Almost every bit of it is BAD NEWS!

My hubby feels like he has to watch it every time it comes on!

And I usually just tune it out...

I prefer to find my news where I know I will find the GOOD NEWS:

 Luke brings Good News
of GREAT JOY!

John brings more Good News

Can you tell I LOVE these new (to me!) Journaling Bibles?!  I would like to purchase one and do some doodling and art in it;

but I am not an artist!  I think the Bible would be ruined if I tried to do these.  Maybe I'll just be satisfied to read what I have; and just look on Pinterest for what others are doing with theirs!

So...off the subject!

The Bible is full of GOOD NEWS; and that is what I want to read...

join me!!
