Simple Woman's Daybook - July 11, 2016

For Today
July 11, 2016

Looking Out My Window
The weather looks beautiful - from the inside!  The temps have been in the high 90's; and I think a couple of days actually "felt like" 100 or more.

Perfect days to stay inside and get things done!

I Am Thinking
About the fun weekend ahead; just a few more days to finish organizing my things...

And Friday morning I will be headed out of town for the retreat!

I Am Thankful
For my family and friends...just that!

One of my Favorite Things
Watching sappy love stories on the Hallmark and Lifetime channels...lately, I have been watching a lot of Christmas movies for their Christmas in July marathons!

I Am Wearing
A pair of dark blue shorts and a light blue top with shades of blue flowers...today, I am blue.

Not really!  Just wearing "work clothes"!

I Am Creating
In order to create, I must be organized!  I have been organizing my craft supplies for the retreat this weekend; and trying to decide what projects I want to take with me.

I Am Reading
I am reading "Local Hero" by Nora Roberts, the first of two stories in a volume called "Truly, Madly Manhattan".

I Am Hoping
To accomplish everything on my "Things to do List" this week.  It will be a full week, getting ready to be gone for the weekend; celebrating two birthdays; breakfast out one morning with my husband's high school alumni... and taking care of things that need to be done before I leave.

It will all be worth it!

I Am Learning
I should already have learned this; I keep speaking before I think...I get caught off guard and speak before I really think about how it is going to be received.

Actually, I never know how it is going to be received.  I just try not to speak...at all!

Which isn't good either!

Maybe one day I'll learn...

In My Kitchen
Dishes in the dishwasher to be put away; and re-load the dishwasher.  Leftovers for dinner; one of those "clean out the fridge" meals!

Shared Quote
In honor of the 90th birthday of Frederick Buechner, I am sharing one of his many quotes:

A Moment From My Day
I spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies...part of one and all of five full movies!

It was wonderful!

I did spend the time, while sitting on the couch, sorting through craft supplies and putting them into bags for the retreat...and making a list so I would be able to find them when needed.

Closing Notes
Last week I started a journey with Dawn, "21 Days of Journaling in July".  Though it is intended to be hand-written in a regular journal, many of the other participants are also posting on their blogs.

So, I decided to share mine, as I did in January 2015.  It's a challenge to myself because the prompts are the same.

And, I will be writing nearly every day during this time frame, with Sundays as a day off, or a "catch up" day.  Even though I am writing more, I will still continue to link-up for the regular posts I do.

So another Simple Woman's Daybook has been completed...
