DREAM

Time for this week's link up with Karen Beth for Tuesday @ Ten where we have a full week to write on the word prompt.

This week's word is:

DREAM...

I have heard we have several dreams, lasting about 90 minutes, every night -

We just don't always remember them.

Me?  I hardly ever remember my dreams;

And, if I do semi-remember...

By the time I get somewhere to try writing it down,

It's gone!

I don't think I even sleep long enough to dream...

And, if I do dream,

I certainly don't think it's 90 minutes long!

These words were written in my "Dream Journal" in September 2002 (one of those times I did write it down):

All I remember from the dream as I woke is -

the feeling of floating

or flying,

like sky-diving;

and, blue -

everything blue.

Clouds?

Sky?

And I wrote these words:

A look into my inner soul

flashes by in cinemascope;

or is it technicolor,

or black and white.

Scenes of flying

or

floating

or

falling;

Running,

jumping,

crawling -

Lying still.

Inside, outside,

Up or down.

Under, around,

through or over.

Houses or cars;

Airplanes or the mall -

Where am I?

Who am I?

What am I -

doing?

Dreaming -

sleeping;

Still or tossing...

Sleepless nights,

Dreamless nights -

Everybody dreams -

Sometimes -

all the time...

Dreams!

Perhaps I need to start writing down the dreams I do have...

And remember!

Perhaps the words are speaking to me;

Reminding me of something.

Perhaps it is someone speaking to me,

Showing me the way I should go, the decisions I should make.

Perhaps...

    1. I don't very often remember a dream, Tara! And when I do remember snatches of it, if I don't get it written down quickly...it goes away...my memory is NOT what it used to be!!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. I so rarely remember a dream that if I do remember, I assume God must be speaking to me through it! (And He usually is!) ;)

    1. I don't remember the dreams very often either! Those I do...I sometimes struggle with what it is saying to me...like above: floating, etc.?! At least I was able to get these words down!!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  3. I think I'd get tired if I remembered all of my dreams ;). I love that you actually wrote one down and the impressions that went along with it.

    1. I have written down a few of my dreams; but don't always remember them. It has to be written down quickly or I'll lose the memory...same as if I get an idea for a blog or something I want to add in my journal! Memory isn't what it used to be...

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

    1. Yes, Liz, some dreams are so vivid; but most are just a glimpse of...something?!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  5. I remember my dreams all too well; they're replays of things that happened, that I can't change.

    Wish I didn't remember them, or have them.

    1. Yes, Andrew...I cannot imagine the dreams - nightmares - you must have; those replays of REAL things that have happened to you. I wish you didn't remember them or have them either!

      Continuously praying for your strength and comfort - and whatever else is needed...

      Thanks for taking the time and energy to read and comment.

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Diana! A lot of what I DO seem to remember are snatches here and there; not sure when or why I started writing them down...but, I have done so - but not lately!

  7. I seldom remember my dreams, either.

  8. Now I do often remember fragments of my dreams; but sometimes I remember whole ones and I assume my psyche is trying to speak to me, so i pay attention! Just be aware that if you do start to record your dreams, you might notice you have loads - our brains work in interesting ways!

    1. Yes, Alexa...bits and pieces, snatches or fragments of dreams; not enough to even put anything much together...that's about all I can remember. Sometimes it comes through a bit clearer; so I do try to pay attention...but never sure what they are trying to say to me!

  9. I think you're really on to something here, Barbara. You're right, our dreams do speak to us, unearthing feelings or memories or relationships that somehow need some attention or closure.

    Super post!

    ;-}

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Linda! Glad you enjoyed...no telling what my dreams are saying to me; but at least when I DO remember, even if bits and pieces, I try to write them down.
