Tuesday @ Ten - IMAGINE

Today I am joining my friend, Karen Beth, for Tuesday @ Ten.

This link-up, writing from a prompted word or phrase, is one of my fave...be sure to check out the others' posts, and link your own!

Today's word is:  IMAGINE

It is hard to imagine what life will be like in five years; or even in five months!

Everyday goes by in rapid motion; everyday brings new challenges, new worries, uncertainties for the days ahead.

I know I don't need to worry or be uncertain about what lies ahead; I know that God has my future in His hands...

Matthew 6:30-33 in the Message Bible says:

"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers -- most of which are never even seen -- don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?  What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving.  People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.  Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.  Don't worry about missing out.  You'll find all your everyday human concerns are met."

Yet...

It is still hard to imagine...

What will life be like in five years; or even five months?

Will I still be living in the same apartment?  Or, will we have moved on...or, will I have moved on to another place?

How will my husband's health be?  How will my health be in the months and years ahead?

I can't imagine five years; I can't imagine even the next few hours, or anything in the future...

Using the scripture from Matthew 6, Kristen Strong, in her book "Girl Meets Change - Truths to Carry You through Life's Transitions", says:

"God doesn't want us to worry about the tomorrows of change because he wants us to see all the ways he's taking care of us today.  He wants us to look in the rearview mirror and remember all the ways he's taken care of us in the past.  And he wants us to have eyes of faith to believe that he will care for us tomorrow too."

Although I know in my heart what lies ahead will be beautiful; I also know it is unimaginable!

These words from the song, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, help me look to the future with the eyes of one who "can only imagine" what it will be like!

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side.

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me.

I can only imagine,
I can only imagine.

Surrounded by Your glory,
what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus,
or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence,
or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah,
Will I be able to speak at all?

I can only imagine,
I can only imagine.

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son.

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever,
Forever worship You.

I can only imagine,
I can only imagine.

And, listen with your eyes closed; meditate on the promise of that day when we stand in His presence...

What will we do?  Dance in His presence?  Bow in silent reverence?  Stand in awe?

I may not be able to imagine my life five years, or even five months, from now; but I do know "he will care for us tomorrow", just as he cared for me in my past!

And I can imagine that whatever my life is like in five years or months, it will be good!

I Can Only Imagine!
