WORD WEDNESDAY - Joy Comes in the Morning

My Word of the Year for 2016 is JOY!  Each week I will share in a "Word Wednesday" post as I discover the JOY in my life - and yours!  Please join me during this year-long journey...

Nobody is "UP" all the time; we can't constantly be "JOYFUL", can we?

There will be days - perhaps many days - when we just don't have "the joy joy joy down in (our) heart"!

We may have concerns on our mind; finances, health, loved-ones in crisis, our future...many things that may have us worrying over, and making it harder to find Joy.

Even things we over-hear in the news can cause worry...things that are so far out of our control that there is absolutely nothing we can do!

God tells us not to worry:

But...well, that's easier said than done, isn't it?  And, is that a guarantee that our worries will magically go away and our Joy will return?

I don't really know the answer; but what I do know is that God tells us to leave all of our worries with Him because he can and will lift our burdens!  And with our burdens lifted...

It will be much easier to find our joy!

So, as we lie down at night with hearts full of burdens, lift our prayers to God and know that...

Praying you find your joy!

    1. Thank you,Elizabeth...it just kept coming up in my Bible reading towards the end of Dec. I've never done a "word for the year"; so, as I pondered the word, decided to give it a try...so far, I've done 3 and plan to do weekly...we'll see how that goes as the year goes on!!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  7. So encouraging, Barbara! It is hard to find joy sometimes, but if we give God our burdens He makes it happen. Our circumstances don't automatically change, but our attitudes can and that makes a lot of difference. Blessings to you!

  8. YES! Joy has been my word for years now, and I try to spread joy to others in any way that I can. But you're so right--as I witness in the lives of others and in my own life, joy can easily be stolen by the enemy in so many negative and painful circumstances that surrounds us. But God is the God of joy and joy will come in the morning if we give our burdens to the Lord! THANK YOU!!!
