Blog-tember Daily - 9-20-15

Another of the Blog-tember Challenge posts!  Linking up with Bailey Jean and catching up -

Today's prompt is:

It's Guilty Pleasure Time!
Shows, books, songs, foods,
Whatever it may be!

I cannot get enough of watching those "competition" shows; just finished "So You Think You Can Dance" and a fantastic "tapper" won!  And, then we also just finished the season of "America's Got Talent", with a ventriloquist winning.

Now, the second week of "Dancing with the Stars" was tonight...

AND they decide to also put on "The Voice" opposite DWTS!

So, I will be watching "The Voice" a day or two late, on Comcast "On Demand".

Then, there are those "building and painting" shows, as my husband calls them!  I watch those when there really isn't anything else on; or if I just don't want to get into a drama or something like that!

And I can't forget those Food Network shows!  As much as I love to watch them, you'd think I'd be an awesome cook...

I love to watch them - but I don't cook with them!

My all-time favorite would be watching the Hallmark or Lifetime movies; and my even more all-time favorite are the Christmas movies!

Books?  I love a good read; and am not usually very particular about the author.  There are certain authors I love to read (Nora Roberts, Nicholas Sparks, Karen Kingsbury, Francine Rivers...oh, too many to name!); but many times I select a book because it "sounds like a good read"!

And, I love mysteries, romance, fairy-tale kind of books ("The Chronicles of Narnia", "The Hunger Games" series, and "The Twilight" series), and the inspirational books such as Ann Voskamp's "One Thousand Gifts."  I also read books that will help me understand what my husband is going through with his dementia...

Songs...most of the music I listen to is on the radio, when I am in my car driving from place to place!  I most often have a Christian radio station tuned in and sing along with whatever is playing.

Many times, depending on what is happening in my life, there is one or two songs that are "my song"...one that speaks to my life at that very moment.

Right now, I'd say it is Colton Dixon's "Through All of It"; here are some of the words that particularly speak to me:

Casting Crowns "Just be Held" is quickly becoming one that helps me focus, knowing that He has it under control!

And, last but certainly not least, FOOD!

I love food, and it shows!  But, what I can't get enough of is...

Ice Cream!

A nice big bowl of Mint Chocolate Chip, or French Vanilla, or Butter Pecan, or ...

Well, I'll try just about any kind of ice cream; but not really a big fan of some of the "wilder" flavors.  The three I mentioned above are my favorites.

But, if I am going to eat ice cream with a slice of warmed apple or cherry pie, or cake - only Vanilla will do!

And, my last "guilty pleasure" is...

Scrapbooking!

Showing off my new toy!

    1. Not a big fan of Nutella; but for those who are, guess they/YOU are excited for that new ice cream flavour!!

Appreciate your reading and commenting...I am slowly getting caught up; but each day, there's another that hasn't been done...Simple Woman's Daybook for yesterday! And, I am not getting them linked; but I am getting them written, so guess that counts!!

  2. No guilty pleasures here, I'm afraid. I wish I had them in the past, but being imbued in the Asian warrior ethos...they just didn't fit.

I enjoyed reading about yours, though. It was part of the life I've missed.

    1. No, Andrew, I'm sure there are many times and places when guilty pleasures just don't fit at all!

Thank you for reading about my guilty pleasures, and commenting your take on that term! Take care and prayers are continuing, Andrew!
