FAB-RUARY 4th

Another day to link up with Helen at:

Excited to be challenged to "find the fab" in my life!

Today, the challenge is to focus on "Rules for happy living"...

A few come to mind:
  1. Tell those you love and care about how you feel; don't let time get away from you and not share your feelings with them.
  2. Don't go to bed angry with each other; make up before you wake up! (I just thought that last part up!!).
  3. Enjoy life - be happy with what you are doing - if you have a job you absolutely HATE, find a new one that you absolutely LOVE!
  4. Spend time alone - thinking, reading, playing, crafting...praying.
  5. Spend time with others - family and friends - playing, crafting, laughing, talking, sharing, crying...remembering.
  6. Make God FIRST in your life - not SIXTH, as in this list of "rules".
  7. Live simply - so others may simply live...this is one learned from a former minister and his wife, also a minister.
Basics, perhaps; easy, doubtful...

But, these few "rules" should make for a happy living.

Now, if I could only put them ALL into practice!

    1. Yeah, if only...it's a dream or a goal for us all...I'm certainly not saying I have always lived my life that way; but, I try!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  3. Great advice. I agree with the #3. I have my professional engineering license and thought I would miss it when I decided to stay home, but I love my new "job" writing and my real job of staying at home with my son. Find something you love to do and it won't be work. :)

    1. Yes, Amanda! I've had jobs I loved, REALLY loved; until it became stressful because of management or supervisors or whatever they were called who didn't "help you succeed"; they waited for failure...but, thatis all in the past. So glad you can be a stay at home mom! Both of my daughters are; one was a teacher for 9 years and decided to stay home after baby #3 was on the way! Proud of both of them!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  4. I love challenges! Today I am going to love my husband extravagantly, regardless of how he communicates his love to me! Fabulous!

    1. You should see what's on the list for the REST of the month! It's been a real challenge for some of them...today's - an easy one; but I think everybody may be getting tired of hearing about my grandchildren!!! Hahaha!! But, I am using them anyways!!!

Thanks for reading and commenting! I'll be reading in a bit...

  6. Nice post, Barbara. Glad you found a challenge you like for this month. I love the "wake up before you make up" rule. I hate unresolved conflicts, so just reading it makes me smile.

    1. Yes, Colleen, it seems I am finding the challenges that I need to work through!

I think I am learning more in my writing than I ever thought I would...as I write on different posts, it stretches me to BE the person that God wants me to be; and that requires a lot of forgiveness and talking and sharing and - just looking into ME and knowing that I AM THE ONE that most often needs to change!

Thank you for reading and commenting.

  7. Awesome prompt for Fab-ruary. I am going to go check out the other prompts.

I especially like your first rule of happy living: "Tell those you love and care about how you feel; don't let time get away from you and not share your feelings with them.." I am off to write a few notes of gratitude to include with some Valentine's Day Cards. . Thanks for the reminder.
