For Today:
December 1, 2014
Outside my window:
beautiful trees of green and orange and red;
that is how we do Autumn going into Winter
in the Land of Florida!
I am thankful:
for the time I had over Thanksgiving holiday
to spend with my 3 kids; their spouses;
and the 6 (plus 1) grandkids.
In the kitchen:
dishes done; meat thawing for dinner;
bread and snacks stacked on the counter;
and a floor that needs sweeping and mopping...
LATER!
I am wearing:
my comfy crocs;
my favorite black & white striped pj top;
and my sweat pants.
I am creating:
hand-made gifts for the holidays
or for the craft sales;
and writing some posts for
special December blogs!
I am going:
to stay home again today
and get some cleaning and organizing done -
MAYBE!
I am wondering:
will I ever get this craft room
ORGANIZED...
so I can actually use it?!
I am reading:
"Voyage of the Dawn Treader"
by C. S. Lewis;
3rd book in the Chronicles of Narnia series
for the first time!
I am hoping:
for the holidays to be special
and drama/stress-free;
and to spend more time
with the kids and grandkids.
I am looking forward to:
some time to do crafts next weekend...
I am learning:
to keep my mouth shut
when the hubby says
weird or hurtful
things.
I am hearing:
the TV on the HGTV station.
Around the house:
gifts I received during our
Thanksgiving/Christmas
that need to be put away.
I am pondering:
why I am so tired and low on energy;
and how I am going to get
ANY
decorating done this season?!
A favorite quote for today:
One of my favorite things:
watching holiday movies
on Hallmark or Lifetime channel
with my hubby
in the evenings after dinner.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
this week is somewhat open
except for an appointment
for my husband's labwork!
A peek into my day:
trying to catch up on laundry,
and some cleaning,
and putting away things
left from the week with family.
And sharing a picture:
from our wonderful
family get-together
for Thanksgiving/Christmas!
My 3 kids; their spouses
and the 6 grandkids;
that's me in the middle with the weird look
and the brown sweater!

I like the way you do these posts! Creative and interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! It was not my idea...I read one from Melanie at http://musingsandmeanderings-mlp.blogspot.com and liked the idea. I first used it in my hand written journal then decided to link up with Peggy and others at http://thesimplewoman.blogspot.com. You should try it!!! Glad you stopped by to read and comment!
DeleteWhat a wonderful family picture! I am counting down the days until my daughter is home for Christmas - 13!!! Have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! We crammed a lot into those few days - Wed. - Sat. My son and his family left early Sun. morning to get back home (Louisiana) so they could get back to work and school...we never seem to have enough time together; but took advantage of what we did have! Lots more pictures were taken; but this one of ALL of us was special to me!!
DeleteI hope you get your craft room all set up the way you like it. Lovely photo of your family! I'm glad you were able to spend Thanksgiving all together.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie...it will take some time to get the craft room organized; I need a couple more shelves or units to hold things!! Love that family photo; we haven't had ALL of us together like that since 2 years ago when my mother passed away...we had a great Thanksgiving! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
DeleteGreat and inpsirational list of daily happenings. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and reading Mary! Enjoyed reading others' blogs as well!
DeleteI too, keep my mouth shut when my hubby says things that I don't agree with or like. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank, Jodi...there is no reason to argue when he says something that I KNOW is not correct...and he repeats himself so much (because of the hearing loss and dementia); so it helps to just not say anything! Appreciate your stopping by and commenting.
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea for a post! Love the photo: you all look so happy and comfortable together!
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen! Not my original idea but I love how it flows and gives the perfect prompts. I hope to link up with them every Monday...appreciate your reading and commenting!
DeleteI hope all is well with your husband and that the lab work is good news. I am HGTV Hallmark girl too :)
ReplyDeleteLove the holiday movies on Hallmark...in fact, I think I need a break from reading and writing; may see if one is on at 3 pm!!! The lab work is mostly just a routine thing; but he is having a couple of issues we need to discuss with his doctor the next week. Thanks for reading and commenting!
