Day 22 - 2015 - VALUE

Today's word is Value...

Not too many days ago, I wrote a post on "Worth"; read it here.

The word "value" is just another way to say "Worth", isn't it?

Value - "1. n. (a) worth (in money or esteem); (b) usefulness; (c) value(s) = principles/important things in life."

Worth - "2. n. value."

As I said...basically the same!

Value = Worth
Worth = Value

But, let's look at the adjective form of each:

Valu{able} - "1. adj. worth a lot of money; very useful."

Worth - "1. adj. (a) having a value or price; (b) useful; giving satisfaction; (c) having riches/money."

{The above definitations were taken from the "Webster's Student Dictionary"}

So, let's explore this quote, that {ironically} has both words in it!  Actually, it was this quote that inspired me to explore the definitions...knowing that both were actually saying the same thing!

So, my "value" {"worth or usefulness"} isn't based on what someone sees as my "worth" {"value"}...

Sounds like a tongue-twister to me!

Actually, I think this quote is really saying a lot, regardless of which word is used!

Like...

"Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your value."

OR

"Your worth doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth."

Hmmm...

Let's ponder that one and see where it gets us!

So, if someone cannot see the worth of the person that you are, that doesn't mean that your value will decrease...you are still - and always will be - the person that you are...

And, as I said in the other post - the one on "Worth" -

To God, we are worth many sparrows!  We are so valuable to Him that He gave His Only Son...

FOR US!

So, remember:  To God you are of great value; you are "worth it all"!

  1. This is great! No matter if someone can see my true worth, it will never change the fact that I have value, and am valuable, to God. Blessings!

  2. I love this... and it reminded me of a song by Rita Springer called Worth it All - and in that song, she is talking about how everything we are going through now will one day be worth it all because our prize is Jesus! "It's gonna be worth it... " the chorus repeats over and over and when I sing it, oh how I believe it!
