December 8th - My Wish List

Can I be truthful?  I usually buy what I need or want - when I need or want it!  I am 63 years old and find it hard to come up with something I want whenever I am asked that question!  But, I do manage to come up with a few items that I share as things I'd love to have...

1.  The Jersey Boys movie and mucic soundtrack CD!

The Jersey Boys movie trailer

The Jersey Boys movie soundtrack

2.  A new cartridge for my Cricut cutting machine:

3.  I always TRY to start the new year with a new devotional book and journal; but I don't always make it through the year doing a daily devotion.  I found this Beth Moore book that I'd like to try again using in the new year 2015:

4.  I would also like to read the stories and inspiration found in this book (I've read other Chicken Soup... books and they are great short reads):

5.  I have to include clothing; so here is a shirt that will let everybody know my addiction!

6.  And, so I "smell good" with that new shirt (or any other new clothes I may receive!), this bath gel and fragrance are found at Bath and Body Works - here in Florida anyway!

Well, for someone who doesn't easily come up with gift ideas for herself, guess I did a pretty good job!  Actually, these were already on a list I shared with my scrappin' friends.  Each year we do an "Elfster" gift exchange and our party is this coming Saturday when we reveal who our Secret Elfster Sister is!

Looking forward to reading everybody's wishes!

    1. Thanks, Tara! I needed to come up with some suggestions for my Elfster (Secret Santa) for our exchanges...we actually meet twice, once in November and then in December when we reveal who had whose name! It is FUN to try to guess who had our name...

  2. Sometimes, making lists shows us how much we already have, doesn't it?!

  3. Don't you just love Elfster? We used it for family gift exchanges for several years - it makes it so easy and so that everyone can be surprised! Sounds like you came up with a few great gift ideas! Have a blast with your Scrapbook friends!

    1. Yes, Karrilee! Love doing Elfster! We have done it now for 3 or 4 years and it's so much FUN! These ideas are mostly for the person who has my name...and if I get them, great! If not...no worries! Thanks for reading and commenting!

    1. Buying for ourselves at least guarantees we get what we want, in the right size, color, etc. doesn't it Dawn! But the list also helps when doing a gift exchange with Elfster or Secret Santa! Thanks for reading and commenting!

  5. I totally agree - I find it so hard to come up with a list but like blestbutstrest highlighted: it shows us how much we already have :) I am thankful for the struggle to think of a list...although I would never reject an Amazon giftcard or those cute mugs I saw or that doormat or that watch...! ;)

    1. Yes, Sarah, it DOES show us how much we already have! I really don't NEED anything; but if I want it, will go ahead and get it. But if it's near Christmas or birthday or even Mother's Day, I hold back to see if the kids get anything for me...they usually know what I like or need or want! Thanks for reading and commenting!

  6. I have the Beth Moore book and have been meaning to read it. Maybe I should join you in the new year and pray God's Word. Thanks for sharing your fave finds!

    1. Thank you for reading and commenting...maybe with some encouragement or someone to share in the new year, I will actually make it through the whole year...I think I stopped around August or September this year. There's always another year to try!

  7. I like to start with a fresh devotional each year, too. I get one for my children and husband, too. I've had to learn to let go of pressuring them to do it during the year, ha ha! That's really not the point of giving it is it? What a nice list you made!

    1. Thank you, Jhona! I have tried every year to get ALL the way through the year; but usually FAIL...I am determine to do it this year! If I don't received the books for Christmas - I'm heading to the book store!! I also enjoy having a journal along with the devotional book. Appreciate your reading and commenting!

  8. Great list Barbara! I especially relate with the scrapbook shirt and I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books also. And a devotional is always a wonderful tool. ;)

I hope Santa is good to you this year! xo

    1. Thank you Carrie! We will see what Santa (AND my Elfster friend) brings me...our Elfster Event is this Saturday! We always have so much FUN when we get together. But, even if I don't get what's on my list...I am blessed with what I have and have what I need!! Thanks for reading and commenting.
