Fab-ruary 18th

Another day to link up with Helen at:

And to be challenged to "find the fab" in my life!

Today, the challenge is to share ...

GOOD NEWS HEADLINES

Thinking about "good news" reminded me of this song, "A Little Good News" sung by Anne Murray, one of my all-time favorite singers:

One of the things I really do not like:

the news on television!

I know...

that's how we keep up with what's going on in the world; in our city;

but, enough is enough!

The same news every time you turn on the TV??  And every station has the very same news stories...

Almost every bit of it is BAD NEWS!

My hubby feels like he has to watch it every time it comes on!

And I usually just tune it out...

I prefer to find my news where I know I will find the GOOD NEWS:

 Luke brings Good News
of GREAT JOY!

John brings more Good News

Can you tell I LOVE these new (to me!) Journaling Bibles?!  I would like to purchase one and do some doodling and art in it;

but I am not an artist!  I think the Bible would be ruined if I tried to do these.  Maybe I'll just be satisfied to read what I have; and just look on Pinterest for what others are doing with theirs!

So...off the subject!

The Bible is full of GOOD NEWS; and that is what I want to read...

join me!!

  1. Amen! I haven't watched the news since the Gulf War (I kid you not). I rarely read a newspaper or listen to the news either. I know the world is full of horrible things. I don't need to be reminded. I'd rather do what I can to make the world around me a better place and stop focusing on all of the horrible results of sin. The good news? Jesus.

    1. Yes! My husband makes fun of me for not watching the news; but I hardly ever find anything "good" to see. As for the newspaper, he reads it daily and is sure to let me know if anyone he (we) know shows up in the obits!

I DID read a section of the paper - starting with the front page - last Sunday when my son-in-law, an artist, was featured along with a few others. Things like this...I will read!!

      Appreciate you reading and commenting!

  2. The news of a fallen world is SO depressing, isn't it? We do follow the news, mostly online, because a lot of it is very relevant to us as a military family (okay, some of it is relevant; we don't really care about celebrity hair colors). But the Good News is always relevant, and always good. And I really want to check out those journaling Bibles - I have never seen them before!

    1. Yes, as a military family I can see the need or desire to keep up with the news! I come from a military family; but the only one active is my son in the Louisiana National Guard, and he is not activated right now. He did serve time in Iraq and Afghanistan (3 times) and has helped with other crisis such as Gulf Oil Spill, hurricanes, etc.

The journaling Bibles are awesome! Just go to Pinterest and put in "journaling Bibles" and you'll get tons of examples!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  3. The Bible is full of good news and the news on TV is almost always bad, even if it is a good story they find a way to spin it to be bad just to make a story. I also try to follow news via internet. Then you can block out what you don't want to see.

    1. Yes, this is true...better to go to the Bible for the Good News. I also check out things that catch my attention on the Internet!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Amanda!

  4. I have a hard time watching the news too especially sad since my major in college was Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. I agree the Bible is indeed full of Good News! Those journaling Bibles are so cool. I might have to get my hands on one of those too!

    1. I think maybe I would have majored in Journalism, too?! Never will know! I may have chosen to be a teacher; but changed my mind! Ended up going to business school (for one year only) and did accounting and computer (back when computer was mostly guys!!)...oh, well! I turned out OK.

But, watching the news on TV is just not something I want to do!!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

    1. The journaling Bibles are great! I am wanting one; but a bit insecure in "messing it up" with my scribbling!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Natalie!

  6. After living overseas for a few years, I cannot get over how anxiety provoking the news is to me when I see it. I can't believe people watch it multiple times a day. No thanks. I'll take the Word any time. And I LOVE those bibles!

    1. I know...watching it multiple times per day??? I can see watching it once to "keep up with things"; but multiple?! That would be my hubby...I tune it out!!

And, I'll join you in taking THE WORD instead!! Those Bibles ARE great, aren't they!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
